Our two in one combination tour package is designed for those with an interest in history, culture and a thirst for adventure. Altun Ha, once an important ceremonial site for the ancient Maya civilization, is one of the main highlights of this tour. It was here that the 9.5 pound Jade head, which represents the Mayan sun god Kinich Ahau, was found. It consists of three main plazas with about thirteen temples and residential structures. Stone steps from an ancient time provide easy access for visitors to reach the top of the Mayan temple and marvel at the scenery since the time when the Maya flourished.
Complementing the Altun Ha Maya Ruin tour is an interesting look at the surrounding broadleaf rainforest environment. This tour allows you to float lazily downstream past underground waterfalls, observing beautiful cave formations as they are swirled around stalagmites jutting from the river and stalactites looming from above.
